I’ll start by saying, I don’t like milk. I haven’t had a cup of milk in decades. Yet, I use my handheld Milk Frother nearly every day. Here are some unique and healthy ways I use it.

There are lots of different types of milk frothers on the market today: electric frothers (like the frothing pitcher I have on the side of my Keurig coffee maker), manual, and handheld. Choose the one that’s right for you. Personally, I think the handheld does the best job and has the most versatility.
I bought a milk frother a long time ago from Ikea. My mom has the same one. Neither of us have used it. I have nothing against the store, but the quality wasn’t there.
Then, I got this stainless steel handheld frother. You can feel its sturdiness in your hand, and it has the power to match. I use it so often that I keep it handy on my pantry shelf right above my coffee maker.
I’m the queen of kitchen gadgets. I have two high-speed blenders, a Ninja and a Vitamix, a portable travel blender, and an immersion blender. Nothing beats the convenience of handheld frothers, and no other kitchen tools achieve the same results.
Frothers whip the right amount of air into your food, giving it a light and fluffy texture. It’s also great for removing lumps and stirring liquids thoroughly. So instead of reaching for a big, clunky kitchen appliance, try using a frother instead.
Every year, I find new ways to live a healthier lifestyle. This includes staying hydrated, eating well-balanced meals, and working out. As I try new recipes in the kitchen, I find myself using my frother more often.
Here are some of the reasons why:
Whether you’re making milk- based coffee drinks using a french press, regular coffee maker, or fancy cappuccino maker, you’ll regret not buying a frother sooner.
While it’s not hard to aerate whole milk, you need a good frother with a powerful motor to add enough foam and lightness to skim milk, almond milk, or coconut milk. For best results, you’ll want to froth cold milk as it aerates better than hot milk. After, I heat up the cold foam in the microwave.
Frothing is not just for coffee lovers. Try out a matcha latte. Matcha tea is known to promote good heart and brain health. This is a good recipe to make a dairy or dairy-free matcha latte.
Turmeric is a natural antioxidant and has inflammatory properties. Try making hot golden milk using regular milk or non-dairy milk like oat milk.
I add protein powder to almost everything (seriously). While I wouldn’t make a smoothie with a frother, I make protein powder hot chocolate. If you want even more protein, try adding pea milk. I also create fancy hot cocoa for my kids and whip it up before serving or add some frothy milk on top.
Instead of buying a pre-made protein powder pancake mix, whip some of your favorite protein powder into the pancake mix.
While I’m talking about breakfast, you can also easily make your own protein waffles using a waffle maker, some pancake mix, protein powder, and a frother.
I’ve been drinking this green powdered vegetable blend for a while. I add it to a glass of water but I need it mixed thoroughly to enjoy it.
I’ve done a couple of rounds of ProLon, a longevity meal plan featuring lots of powdered soups. I found it easy to prepare my soups using a frother to break up the lumps and give it a smoother consistency.
When I can, I make homemade salad dressings. Using a frother, especially for vinaigrettes, does a better job at mixing and emulsifying the ingredients than merely shaking it in a bottle or mason jar.
Sure, a frother can make fluffier scrambled eggs, but I also have another healthy hack: I add some cottage cheese for a bit of extra protein.
Speaking of cottage cheese, although I haven’t had a chance to make this healthier ice cream alternative yet, it’s on my to-do list. A frother is the perfect tool to mix up all the ingredients.
My daughter and I love to experiment with different ingredients for chia pudding. You really can’t mess it up and a frother is a good way to combine ingredients.
Another great breakfast idea is overnight oats. There are some great recipes like this one which incorporate coffee.
If you’re a fan of bulletproof coffee, mixing in butter is super easy with a frother.

Clean your milk frother immediately after use. I run it under warm, soapy water. The best way to deep clean the frother is to run it in a glass of water with some dish soap. It doesn’t take much time or energy to maintain it.
While at first glance, you may think you would use a frother for only coffee drinks, there are so many more creative uses for it, and I haven’t even touched on all the cocktail recipes. It’s a great value (most of them are under $15) for such a handy tool.
